The quality of the streaming was very impressive, the sound even more so, particularly as it was from the phone. The only downside was that an individual’s arms were aching for 40 plus minutes holding it! I wanted to do short snippets but this would have affected the flow of the live stream and irritated viewers!

I’ve trawled the web for some social media developments from how to plan your social media schedule to how to use the increasingly popular social media tool Storify to integrate images, tweets, audio and video!

How to Enable the New YouTube Design Now
“Word on the street is that YouTube has a slick new design. It’s a revamped homepage with some pretty tight Google+ social integration and content discovery features.”

How to Create a Social Media Marketing Schedule
“It’s easy to get into social media for the wrong reasons and to post too much or too little. Here’s how to balance out your social media efforts.”

4 ways journalism educators are using Storify as a teaching tool
“More and more news sites have been using Storify to capture reaction and highlight interesting discussions taking place on social networks. And journalism educators have also started using it — to create multimedia course content, organize handouts and teach students how to curate social media.”

Webinar – Nonprofit Newsletters That Engage
“Webinar on December 2nd to look at how Online newsletters can allow organizations to produce their publications more efficiently, collect more data about their audience, and gain insight into how engaged their supporters are. Explore how email newsletters succeed using the tools and data that come along with doing these online. Using examples from other nonprofits, we’ll look at what works and what are some of the best practices for online newsletters, and how to gear your content towards targeted audiences.”
